NSPK plans to cooperate on transfers and payments with the systems of the EAEU and CIS countries - strategy

MOSCOW. April 6 (Interfax) - The National Payment Card System (NSPK) plans to develop cooperation with payment systems of the EAEU and CIS countries in terms of P2P transfers (peer-to-peer) and payments for purchases, the company's development strategy for 2023-2024 says.

"Expansion and development of partnership opportunities with payment systems operating in the EAEU and CIS countries, including making secure P2P transfers in the EAEU and CIS countries, withdrawing funds from ATMs and paying for purchases and services in trade and service enterprises, including at popular resources on the Internet information and telecommunication network" is a company goal as specified in the strategy.

In addition, as part of its international development, NSPK plans to launch a service of cross-border transfers and payments in the Fast Payment System (FPS), and will also continue to expand the MIR card network abroad.

As reported, by the end of 2023, the Russian Central Bank intends to implement intersystem integration of the FPS with similar systems in several EAEU countries. Meanwhile, it was not reported which countries' systems would be targeted for integration.

"The year 2022 was very indicative, and we saw that those countries that are loyal and friendly to us are ready to integrate with our Fast Payment System and make these payments on their side as well. Therefore, we are also going into this, and not only with the closest countries, but more distant ones as well," First Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank Olga Skorobogatova said, speaking at the State Duma on Thursday.
