Belarusian PM calls Russian gas price for 2023-2025 a commercial secret
MINSK. April 6 (Interfax) - The price of Russian gas supplies to Belarus for 2023-2025 is a commercial secret, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said.
"The price is always a commercial secret," he said, answering journalists' questions in Moscow about the cost of gas supplies. The Prime Minister's video commentary was distributed by his press service.
"For us, the price is good. For three years. This is very important. We have fixed it, and now there will be no new agreements every year; the price is fixed, and the Republic of Belarus is satisfied with it," the prime minister said.
At the end of February, Russia and Belarus signed a protocol regulating the pricing procedure for gas supplies to the republic and transportation through its territory from August 1, 2022 to December 31, 2025 inclusive.
Earlier it was reported that the price of Russian gas for Belarus for 2023-2025 was agreed at the 2022 level, calculated in rubles. Since April 2022, Belarus has switched to paying for gas in Russian rubles after another annual contract was signed at the end of 2021 for the supply of gas at a price of $128.52 per 1,000 cubic meters.
By the end of 2023, Minsk expects to agree with Moscow on the key mechanisms for the functioning of the common gas market on the basis of equal conditions for business entities.
