FESCO opens subsidiary in Belarus for intermodal and rail shipments

MOSCOW. April 5 (Interfax) - FESCO Group (the Far East Shipping Company ) has opened the FESCO BelTrans subsidiary in Belarus to develop import and export shipping in the country, the company said.

"On March 30, 2023, the registration of the legal entity was completed. Oleg Tkach was appointed General Director of FESCO BelTrans. The headquarters is in Minsk," the message says.

The company's focus will be on the operation of current, and the development of new, FESCO rail and intermodal services between Belarus and the countries of Southeast Asia, Turkey, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, the group said.

According to FESCO, in 2022, the volume of the company's transportation to Belarus increased six times, and from Belarus, three times to 3,500 and 600 Twenty-foot Equivalent Units (TEU), respectively.

FESCO is a major Russian port operator as well as rail and logistics provider. It manages a container fleet of more than 130,000 TEU, and over 10,000 fitting platforms. The group's fleet consists of 25 vessels, mainly operated on its own shipping lines.
