Russian cosmonauts to stage 43 experiments aboard ISS before returning to Earth in Sept

KOROLYOV, Moscow region. April 5 (Interfax) - Russian cosmonauts of Expedition 69 will stage 43 experiments onboard the International Space Station (ISS), the Mission Control Center said in a statement.

"Forty-three experiments are due to be staged as part of the Russian program of ISS Expedition 69, including 38 experiments involving crew members," the statement said, citing the fundamental and applied research program of ISS Expedition 69.

There will be 18 experiments in space materials science and future space technologies, and 13 in space biology, physiology and medicine. In addition, the cosmonauts will study the Earth from space and will take part in fulfilling practical assignments and conducting educational sessions.

ISS Expedition 69 began on March 29, 2023. It will end on September 27, 2023, when the Soyuz MS-23 spacecraft returns to Earth, the Mission Control Center said.

Russian cosmonauts Sergei Prokopyev, Dmitry Petelin and Andrei Fedyayev, NASA astronauts Frank Rubio, Stephen Bowen and Woody Hoburg, and UAE astronaut Sultan al-Neyadi are currently operating the ISS.
