Russia registers 8,636 new cases of Covid-19, 36 deaths in past 24 hours - HQ

MOSCOW. April 5 (Interfax) - Russia has registered 8,636 new cases of Covid-19 and 36 related deaths over the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Wednesday.

Russia "has recorded 8,636 new cases of Covid-19 and 1,294 patients were hospitalized during the day, down 14.5% from the day before," the headquarters said.

According to the headquarters, the number of hospitalizations increased in 31 Russian constituent territories, declined in 46, and remained unchanged in eight.

Daily morbidity has grown by 1,495 cases from 7,141 recorded on Tuesday.

Thirty-six patients died from Covid-19 over the past day, compared to 38 the day before.

"Another 11,807 patients have recovered in the past 24 hours, down 3.7% from April 4," the headquarters said.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Russia has seen a total of 22,679,739 cases of Covid-19, including 397,420 deaths and 22,049,429 recoveries.
