Ukraine's international reserves exceed $32 bln - NBU

MOSCOW. April 4 (Interfax) - Ukraine's international reserves have exceeded $32 billion after receiving the first tranche of the International Monetary Fund's loan as per the arrangement under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF), Ukrainian media reported, citing First Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) Ekaterina Rozhkova.

"Including these funds, the volume of assistance received from our partners since the beginning of the year has reached $13.6 billion, and the international reserves of the National Bank of Ukraine have exceeded $32 billion," Rozhkova wrote on social media.

The NBU has not yet published statistical data on reserves for March. Ukraine had international reserves totaling $28.865 billion at the end of February. The reserves declined 3.5% during the month because of a decrease in forex earnings from international partners and a simultaneous rise in payments on foreign currency debts.

Ukraine's Finance Ministry the other day announced that it had received the first tranche of $2.7 billion under the IMF's new 48-month EFF arrangement that totals SDR 11.6 billion, or around $15.6 billion.
