Netherlands announces disbursement of 274 mln euros in first support package for Ukraine in 2023

MOSCOW. April 4 (Interfax) - The government of the Netherlands will disburse 274 million euros in support for Ukraine as a first tranche of the 2.5-million-euro package reserved for supporting Ukraine in 2023.

Dutch Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation Minister Liesje Schreinemacher and Foreign Minister Wopke Hoekstra informed the House of Representatives of this decision on Monday, Ukrainian media reported with reference to the Dutch government's website. The government acknowledges that Ukraine's humanitarian needs are still substantial.

"Minister Schreinemacher has appointed former diplomat Ron van Dartel as a special envoy to promote the Dutch business community's involvement in the reconstruction in Ukraine. The envoy will maintain contacts with Dutch companies and the Ukrainian authorities, determine Ukraine's specific needs and see whether the Dutch expertise is in line with this. Van Dartel will also maintain contacts with major international institutions conducting tenders to create points of entrance for Dutch companies," it said.
