IAEA director general expected to visit Russia on April 5 - Russian diplomat

MOSCOW. April 3 (Interfax) - Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi will arrive in Russia on April 5 to discuss the situation at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) with an interagency commission, Russian Permanent Representative to International Organizations in Vienna Mikhail Ulyanov said.

"Within the next few days, namely the day after tomorrow, there will be his next meeting with the Russian interagency delegation in Russia's territory," Ulyanov told the Rossiya-24 (VGTRK) television channel on Monday.

Ulyanov said that he had met with Grossi the previous week.

"I asked him whether he has any comments on how to ensure the security of the plant's operation. He said that he had thoroughly examined the main facilities, that his impression was good and he has no special comments," he said.

"We have no particular problems with the [IAEA] director general. We are engaged in a constructive and professional conversation on this issue. He is adjusting his proposals regarding the protection of the Zaporozhye NPP's nuclear safety and security," Ulyanov added.
