Kazan to host BRICS summit in 2024 - decree

MOSCOW. April 3 (Interfax) - Kazan will host a summit of the BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and the Republic of South Africa) in 2024, and the organizing committee to facilitate Russia's presidency of BRICS will be headed by presidential aide Yury Ushakov, according to a presidential decree published on the official database of legal information.

"In view of Russia's upcoming presidency of the BRICS association in 2024, I decree that Kazan be designated the venue for a meeting between the heads of state of the BRICS countries," it says.

Ushakov has been given one month to endorse the composition of the organizing committee to facilitate Russia's presidency of BRICS.
