Bulk carrier to deliver 27,000 tonnes of Ukrainian wheat to Egypt as part of Grain Initiative - Infrastructure Ministry

MOSCOW. March 31 (Interfax) - Six ships with Ukrainian agricultural products departed the ports of Greater Odessa on Thursday, one carrying 27,000 tonnes of wheat for Egypt that Ukraine is exporting as part of the Black Sea Grain Initiative, Ukrainian media reported, citing the press service of the country's infrastructure ministry.

"On March 30, six ships with Ukrainian foodstuffs departed the ports of Greater Odessa. Among them is the Serenity Ibtihaj bulk carrier with 27,000 tonnes of wheat for Egypt," the ministry said on social networks.

As noted, 44 ships have exported one million tonnes of Ukrainian agricultural products to Egypt since the beginning of the Grain Initiative.

Moreover, 89 ships are awaiting inspection in Turkish territorial waters as of the evening of March 30, as reported.

Ukraine's Infrastructure Ministry said that 857 ships from the ports of Greater Odessa have exported 26.2 million tonnes of Ukrainian foodstuffs to the countries of Asia, Europe and Africa since August 1, 2022.
