Ukraine beginning to choose projects for thermal upgrade of public buildings with EIB funding

MOSCOW. March 31 (Interfax) - Projects for thermal upgrade of public buildings will be selected under a financial agreement between Ukraine and the European Investment Bank (EIB) from April 3 through June 3, 2023, the Ukrainian media said with the reference to the press service for the Ukrainian Reconstruction Ministry.

The media said that small and medium communities, which had not taken part in largescale thermal upgrade projects before, as well as damaged buildings and projects for adaptation of buildings to accommodate internally displaced persons might join the program.

Thermal upgrade envisages insulation of facades, roofs, basements, installation of energy-efficient windows and entrance doors, meters and energy consumption control systems, modernization of heating, ventilation, lighting systems, etc.

Back in 2020, the EIB approved a 300-million-euros loan for raising energy efficiency of public buildings in Ukraine, which envisages thermal upgrade of administrative buildings, schools, kindergartens, cultural establishments and hospitals.
