Japan bans exports of aircraft, ship engines, drones, electronic and measuring equipment to Russia
TOKYO. March 31 (Interfax) - Japan is banning exports of aerospace, construction and metallurgical goods, as well as certain kinds of measuring and communication equipment to Russia.
The ban would take effect on April 7, 2023, the Japanese Economy Ministry said in a statement.
Japan is banning exports of steel, aluminum, steel and aluminum goods, boilers and boiler parts, construction machinery including bulldozers and excavators, forging equipment, means of transportation and vehicle spare parts.
Japan will also prohibit exports of aircraft and ship engines, electrical and navigation equipment, electric generators, drones, planes, satellites and their parts, toys and modeling kits.
The ban applies to optical and photographic equipment, measuring equipment and instrumentation, and precision equipment. The statement mentions optical fiber and fiber optic cables, binoculars, and equipment for aerial photography as examples of prohibited exports.
Japan has repeatedly imposed sanctions on Russia before.
