Grossi eyes new visit to Russia for talks on Zaporozhye NPP - IAEA

MOSCOW. March 30 (Interfax) - International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi may soon visit Russia again for talks on the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant (ZNPP), the agency said in a statement on Thursday.

Grossi "remained determined to press ahead with his diplomatic efforts" to ensure the plant's safety and he "indicated he may soon travel to Russia again for further talks," the IAEA statement said.

An IAEA delegation of 18 people led by Grossi visited the ZNPP on Wednesday afternoon to assess nuclear safety and ensure IAEA specialists' rotation at the plant on a regular basis.

Talks on the ZNPP are currently focused on protecting the plant itself rather than on creating a security zone around it, Grossi said following the visit.
