Transneft interested in cooperating with South Africa's Sasol and Transnet

MOSCOW. March 30 (Interfax) - Transneft is interested in cooperating with South Africa's Sasol and Transnet companies.

"We are ready to offer technologies for servicing the oil and gas transport infrastructure," Russian Natural Resources and Environment Minister Alexander Kozlov said at a meeting of the Russia-South Africa intergovernmental commission.

"I think that it is necessary to discuss the possibilities regarding cooperation as soon as possible," Kozlov added.

Kozlov also said that the Litasco group, which is a subsidiary of PJSC Lukoil , delivered 170,000 tonnes of oil and petroleum products to South Africa in 2022. Moreover, Kozlov said that Gazprom Neft is interested in organizing oil supplies, as well as expanding the range of petroleum products supplied. Gazprom Neft delivered 625 tonnes of lubricants to South Africa in 2022.

"We are also ready to cooperate in the area of standardization and conformity assessment of equipment. In order to discuss the matter, we propose organizing a meeting between representatives of the Institute for Oil and Gas Technology Initiatives and South Africa's Sasol in a format that suits the South African side," Kozlov said.
