Ukraine beginning to provide passport services to its citizens in Germany in test mode

MOSCOW. March 30 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian state agency Document is to open its first office in Berlin to issue passports to Ukrainian citizens staying in Germany.

"The issuance of passport documents to Ukrainian citizens in Berlin is to start in test mode at Am Treptower Park 14, 12435 Berlin, Floor 2, on Friday, March 31," Ukrainian media have reported with reference to the Document state agency's official website.

While the office works in test mode, applicants will be served from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. from Monday to Saturday on a first-come-first-served basis.

The passport center will announce its full-scale operations on Document's official sites. Until lately, Ukrainians have been able to receive passports in Germany only through consular offices.

Passport centers outside of Ukraine where Ukrainian citizens can receive foreign travel passports or ID cards are currently operating in Poland, Turkey, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic.
