Erdogan says Putin may visit Turkey in late April

ISTANBUL. March 30 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin may attend the ceremony of loading the first nuclear fuel into the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant in Turkey on April 27, the Anadolu news agency quoted Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as saying.

"The first step will be made at the Akkuyu NPP on April 27, and Russian President Vladimir Putin could take part or connect online," Erdogan said.

As reported earlier, the Rosatom state corporation plans to deliver fuel to the Akkuyu NPP, currently under construction in Turkey, in spring. It was reported later that the first nuclear fuel will loaded on April 27.

Rosatom is building the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant in Turkey, which is a build-own-operate project, where the Russian side acts as the owner of a foreign nuclear power plant. Rosatom companies now own almost 100% of the capital in Akkuyu Nuclear.
