Kiev court to hear Kievo-Pecherskaya Lavra's lawsuit against authorities on April 26

MOSCOW. March 30 (Interfax) - The Kiev Economic Court on Wednesday opened proceedings on a lawsuit filed by the Kievo-Pecherskaya Lavra monastery against the Kievo-Pecherskaya Lavra national reserve, the entity that unilaterally terminated the lease contract with the Ukrainian Orthodox Church concerning the monastery on March 29.

The court scheduled a preparatory hearing of the case for April 26, Ukrainian media reported late on Wednesday.

The court also granted the monastery's motion to demand that the authorities provide information about the alleged violations in property use on the Lavra's territory. These alleged uncovered violations earlier served as grounds for the lease agreement's termination.
