Kamaz plans to open production and service center in Kyrgyzstan

BISHKEK. March 29 (Interfax) - Russian manufacturer of heavy trucks, Kamaz plans to open a production and service center in Kyrgyzstan according to a draft protocol of the Kyrgyz-Russian intergovernmental commission.

"The parties were instructed to work out the issue of cooperation between Russia's Kamaz with an enterprise in Kyrgyzstan to organize assembly production on the territory of Kyrgyzstan," the document says.

The Russian side was instructed to send the Kyrgyz side concrete proposals on measures, including those aimed at increasing the competitiveness of locally produced products in the republic's market.

Kyrgyzstan's Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce Ainura Usenbekova told reporters that a visit of specialists from Russia to Osh is planned in the near future to study the region's potential and exchange experience with their Kyrgyz colleagues.
