Govt proposes that Ukrainian-Syrian agreement on trade, economic, technical cooperation be denounced

MOSCOW. March 29 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian government has proposed that the Verkhovna Rada denounce the Ukrainian-Syrian intergovernmental agreement on economic and technical cooperation.

The Ukrainian media reported with the reference to Government Representative in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnichuk that the decision was made at a government meeting on Tuesday.

Given a drastic change in circumstances, including the Syrian government's support for Russia and the breaking off of diplomatic relations between Ukraine and Syria, the bill proposes that the agreement dated April 21, 2002, be terminated.
