Ukraine dispatches another ship under Grain from Ukraine program

MOSCOW. March 27 (Interfax) - Ukraine dispatched the sixth ship with 30,000 tonnes of wheat for Yemen on Sunday under the Grain from Ukraine humanitarian program, the Ukrainian Infrastructure Ministry said.

"Grain from Ukraine: a bulker carrying 30,000 tonnes of humanitarian wheat for Yemen is passing through the grain corridor. The Negmar Cicek bulker, the sixth ship of the Grain from Ukraine program, departed from the Chernomorsk port and joined the convoy of another three vessels," the Ukrainian media said on Sunday with the reference to a ministry statement published on a social network.

Yemen hit by a food crisis will receive 30,000 tonnes of Ukrainian grain owing to donations of the U.S., French and Spanish governments, it said.

A total of 170,000 tonnes of Ukrainian wheat have been shipped from Greater Odessa ports to such countries in need as Ethiopia, Somalia, Yemen and Kenya since the launch of the Grain from Ukraine program.
