Russia sees 12,493 new Covid-19 cases, 35 related deaths in past day - HQ

MOSCOW. March 24 (Interfax) - Russia has recorded 12,493 new cases of Covid-19 and 35 related deaths over the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Friday.

"A total of 12,493 new cases of Covid-19 have been registered and 1,390 patients have been hospitalized over the day, down 5.8% from the previous day," the headquarters said.

The number of hospitalizations due to Covid-19 grew in 41 Russian constituent territories, declined in 38, and remained unchanged in six, it said.

The daily morbidity has decreased by 19 cases from 12,512 recorded on Thursday.

Thirty-five coronavirus-related deaths were recorded in the past 24 hours versus 36 the day before.

"Another 13,443 patients have recovered in the past 24 hours, down 2.3% from March 23," the headquarters said.

In total, 22,562,888 cases of Covid-19 have been registered in Russia since the beginning of the pandemic, including 397,009 deaths and 21,915,850 recoveries.
