RusAF to be required to comply with 35 conditions after reinstatement of membership - World Athletics

MOSCOW. March 24 (Interfax) - The Russian Athletics Federation (RusAF), following the reinstatement of its membership in World Athletics by the World Athletics Council, will have to comply with 35 conditions that help monitor its activities, the World Athletics press service said.

"However RusAF will be required to comply with a set of 35 Special Conditions that are intended to ensure that RusAf's anti-doping reforms remain in place and continue to operate effectively," it said.

These Special Conditions are designed to enable World Athletics to monitor, evaluate, oversee, and assist RusAF and "to protect RusAF from external pressures and attempts to influence or control its functioning."

On Thursday, World Athletics President Sebastian Coe announced the World Athletics Council's decision to reinstate RusAF's membership in the organization that was suspended in the fall of 2015 against the backdrop of a doping scandal in Russian sport.
