Russia sees 12,512 new Covid-19 cases, 36 related deaths over past 24 hours - HQ

MOSCOW. March 23 (Interfax) - Russia has recorded 12,512 new cases of Covid-19 over the past 24 hours, while 36 patients diagnosed with coronavirus have died in this period, the coronavirus operative response headquarters said in a statement on Thursday.

Russia "saw 12,512 new cases of Covid-19. The number of daily hospitalizations amounted to 1,475, down 4.5% compared to the previous day," it said.

The number of related hospitalizations grew on Tuesday in 36 constituent territories of Russia, decreased in 40, and remained unchanged in nine ones, it said.

Compared to the previous day, when Russia saw 12,001 cases of Covid-19, the number of new infections increased by 511.

Thirty-six patients with coronavirus have died over the past 24 hours compared with 39 deaths on the previous day.

"As many as 13,759 people have recovered over the past 24 hours, or 9.1% fewer than on March 22," it said.

Russia has recorded a total of 22,550,395 cases of Covid-19, 396,974 related deaths, and 21,902,407 recoveries since the start of the pandemic.
