Kyrgyz govt imposes restrictions on exports of precious metals from country

BISHKEK. March 22 (Interfax) - The Kyrgyz government decided to impose six-month restrictions on exports of precious metals and commodities containing precious metals from the country on Wednesday, the Kyrgyz government's press service said.

"The Kyrgyz government decided at its meeting to impose quantitative restrictions on the exports of precious metals and commodities containing precious metals [...] from the country for six months [...]," the statement said.

The decision is aimed at protecting the domestic jewelry industry and assisting in the development of the domestic production of jewelry in the processing of precious metals and commodities containing precious metals outside the customs area, the press service said.

The decision will take effect in seven days after its official publication.
