Transmashholding entity receives contract to supply consignment of metro cars to Belarus

MOSCOW. March 22 (Interfax) - Moscow Region-based JSC Metrovagonmash, part of JSC Transmashholding (TMH), and the Minsk Metro state enterprise have signed a contract for the supply of 28 up-to-date metro cars, TMH said in a statement.

TMH said that there are plans to form seven four-car electric trains from the cars, which will transport passengers following the commissioning of the second section of the third line of the Minsk Metro.

The Minsk City Executive Committee conducted a tender, following which the contract was signed.

Metrovagonmash's plant has been collaborating with the Minsk Metro since the subway system was launched in 1984. The Belarusian capital's subway system currently operates 346 metro cars that were manufactured in the Moscow suburb of Mytishchi.
