Zelensky to attend G7, EU summits by video link
MOSCOW. March 22 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky will attend a Group of Seven summit due in May of this year by video link.
According to Ukrainian media, speaking at a press conference in Kiev after talks with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, Zelensky said, "I have accepted the prime minister's invitation and will take part in the summit by video link."
The G7 summit will take place in Hiroshima, Japan.
Zelensky will also attend a European Council meeting at the level of heads of state and heads of government, which will be held in Brussels on March 23-24, by videoconference.
This is said in the invitation sent by European Council President Charles Michel to EU leaders, Ukrainian media said. The text of the letter was circulated in Brussels on Tuesday.
The participants in the March 24 EU summit will discuss the economic and financial situation.
