Ukrainian PM submits candidacies for several ministerial posts to Rada

MOSCOW. March 21 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal has submitted candidacies for the post of education and science minister, strategic industries minister and deputy prime minister for innovations and the development of education, science and technologies - digital transformation minister to the Verkhovna Rada for consideration, Ukrainian media said, citing the government's representative to the parliament Taras Melnichuk.

"The Verkhovna Rada has received Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal's nominations for the following posts: Mikhail Fyodorov as a candidate for the post of deputy prime minister for innovations, the development of education, science and technologies - digital transformation minister, Oksen Lisovy for education minister, and Alexander Kamyshin for the post of strategic industries minister of Ukraine," Ukrainian media outlets quoted Melnichuk as saying in a social media post.

Oksen Lisovy previously taught at the Kievo-Mogilyansky academy and held a senior position in the Ukrtelecom management. He headed up the Minor Academy of Sciences National Center in June 2010.

Alexander Kamyshin, who held the post of CEO of Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways) from April 1, 2022 to February 27, 2023, became the company's acting CEO on August 11, 2021. Prior to that, he was a manager at Dragon Capital and SCM. In 2021, Kamyshin also served as an advisor to Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Alexander Kubrakov. He resigned as Ukrzaliznytsia CEO in February 2023, announcing plans to head up the company's Europe-based office for integration with Europe. He was appointed the Ukrainian president's part-time advisor on March 3, 2023.

Mikhail Fyodorov earlier held the post of deputy prime minister and digital transformation minister.
