SAINT PETERSBURG. March 20 (Interfax) - The First Container Terminal company, or FCT, located in the Great Port of St. Petersburg, and part of the Global Ports group, has started servicing a new regular container service of direct deliveries from China, the press service of the Global Ports group said.

The service is operated by the Chinese Torgmoll transport and logistics company. In 2023, the company, which already has offices in Moscow and the Far East, plans to open a branch in St. Petersburg.

"First Container Terminal received its first vessel as part of the service on March 17. Ship calls will be made twice a month along the route Qingdao - Shanghai - Huangpu - Petersburg. Five specialized container ships with an average capacity of 2,500 TEU are involved on the route," the press service said.

As part of the service, accelerated container trains will be formed at the FCT site to send imported goods to stations in the Moscow area.

FCT and Yanino Logistics Park, the internal terminal of Global Ports on the border of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, will make empty container depot services available to customers, the press release said.
