Xi Jinping arrives in Russia

MOSCOW. March 20 (Interfax) - Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Russia on a state visit on Monday, an Interfax correspondent reported.

The Chinese president's aircraft has landed at Moscow's Vnukovo-2 airport.

The Chinese leader's state visit to Russia will begin with one-on-one negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday.

This is Xi's first foreign visit after he was reelected as Chinese president. He visited Russia last time in June 2019, which was also a state visit. Putin visited China last time in early February 2022 to attend the opening ceremony of the winter Olympics in Beijing.

The Russian-Chinese negotiations in an expanded format involving delegations are planned for the second day of Xi's visit to Moscow.
