Ukraine withdraws from agreement with Russia on maintenance of strategic missile systems
MOSCOW. March 20 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has signed a decree terminating the agreement with Russia on warranty and designer maintenance of strategic missile systems of the Strategic Forces deployed to their territories.
"The agreement between Ukraine and the Russian Federation on warranty and designer maintenance of operations of strategic missile systems of the Strategic Forces deployed to their territories, concluded in Yalta on September 3, 1993, shall be terminated," Ukrainian media outlets said, quoting the text of the decree.
The agreement was terminated in accordance with Paragraph 3 of Part 1 of Article 106 of the Ukrainian Constitution, Article 24 of the Ukrainian law "On Ukraine's treaties", and Article 62 of the Vienna on the Law of Treaties.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry was ordered to notify the Russian side about the termination of the agreement in the appropriate manner.
