Unilever to invest in construction of hygiene product factory in Ukraine

MOSCOW. March 17 (Interfax) - The British-Dutch company Unilever Plc will invest 20 million euros in the construction of a factory in the Kiev region to produce personal hygiene products, shampoos and gels under Dove, Axe, TRESemme and Clear brands, the Ukrainian media said with the reference to the company press service.

The construction will begin in 2023, and the factory will commence operation in 2024.

The factory will create about 100 jobs and will supply products mostly to the Ukrainian market, while exports to Europe are potentially possible.

Unilever said that the factory would be built consistent with high environmental standards, using renewable energy solutions.

Unilever operates in over 100 countries. It makes products under Knorr, Dove, Omo, Cif, Domestos, Axe, Rexona, Cherny Zhemchug, Chistaya Linia, Inmarco and other brands.

The company currently has over 100 employees in Ukraine.
