Russia registers 12,915 new cases of Covid-19, 35 deaths in past 24 hours - HQ

MOSCOW. March 17 (Interfax) - Russia has registered 12,915 new cases of Covid-19 and 35 related deaths over the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Friday.

Russia "has recorded 12,915 new cases of Covid-19 and 1,530 patients have been hospitalized over the day, up 9.1% from the day before," the headquarters said.

According to the headquarters, the number of hospitalizations increased in 42 Russian constituent territories, declined in 39, and remained unchanged in four.

The daily morbidity has decreased by 94 cases from 13,009 recorded on Thursday.

Thirty-five patients died from Covid-19 over the past day, versus 38 the day before.

"Another 12,149 patients have recovered in the past 24 hours, up 6.9% from March 16," the headquarters said.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Russia has seen a total of 22,480,857 cases of Covid-19, including 396,769 deaths and 21,829,610 recoveries.
