Power transmission restricted in Kiev and in Kiev and Zhitomir regions - Ukrenergo

MOSCOW. March 16 (Interfax) - Power transmission is still restricted in the city of Kiev and in the Kiev and Zhitomir regions of Ukraine due to substantial damage caused to the grids, Ukrainian media reported with reference to the national grid operator Ukrenergo on Thursday.

"Consumption restrictions have been imposed in those regions now. There are no restrictions in Ukrenergo's grids in other regions that would call for restricting consumption. No consumption limits have been set for regions," it said.

On the whole, Ukrainian power plants are generating enough electricity to cover consumption, it said.

"On March 16, the volume of generation is sufficient to fully satisfy consumer demand for electricity nationwide," the Ukrainian Energy Ministry said.
