Russia quits Eureka European scientific-technical program

MOSCOW. March 16 (Interfax) - Russia has decided to quit the Eureka European scientific-technical program.

"To accept the proposal of the Industry and Trade Ministry, coordinated with the Foreign Ministry, the Finance Ministry and the Justice Ministry of Russia, regarding the withdrawal of the Russian Federation from the Eureka European scientific-technical program," said a resolution by the Russian government published on the official website of legal information.

The Industry and Trade Ministry has been tasked with notifying the chair and the head of the Eureka Association Secretariat about this decision.

Eureka is a European academic research and R&D program founded in 1985. It comprises 41 full members, including the European Union. Russia joined Eureka in 1993.
