Ukraine to draw 34.5-mln-euro NEFCO grant for housing construction

MOSCOW. March 15 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian cities of Ivano-Frankovsk, Ternopol, Khmelnitsky and Novovolynsk will draw a 34.5-million-euro grant from NEFCO to build homes for internally displaced persons, the Ukrainian media said with the reference to the NEFCO website.

The European Union provides the grant, and the program is managed via the Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (NEFCO). It is planned to invest 9.5 million euros in Ivano-Frankovsk and Ternopol each, alongside 8.4 million euros in Khmelnitsky and 7.1 million euros in Novovolynsk in the Volyn region.

It is planned to build 5,000 to 7,000 square meters of equipped and furnished apartments in three- to five-story buildings.

According to the NEFCO websites, tenders in each city will begin in early April 2023.

Interested contractors are invited to make their bids before March 31, 2023.

The final criteria for bidders will be set by the NEFCO procurement rules, and companies that miss or do not express their interest will not be excluded from the tender.

NEFCO is an international financial institution funding the expansion of North European green solutions on global markets. It was founded in 1990 by Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.
