Central Bank of Russia resumes publication of monthly merchandise trade figures according to balance of payments method

MOSCOW. March 14 (Interfax) - The Central Bank of Russia has resumed the publication of monthly merchandise trade figures according to balance of payments method after putting this on hold last spring, according to data on the regulator's website.

The last figures published on March 14, 2022 were for January 2022. The Central Bank on March 14, 2023 gave trade figures for the 12 months from February 2022 to January 2023, inclusive.

The Federal Customs Service on March 13 resumed publication of data on exports and imports by value.

Russia's trade surplus, calculated according to the balance of payments method, shrank 58.8% year-on-year in January 2023 to $9.1 billion, the Central Bank said in information posted on its website on March 14, 2023.
