Ukraine, Germany to extend agreement on cooperation in nuclear safety and security

MOSCOW. March 10 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian government has approved a draft of the Ukrainian-German intergovernmental agreement extending the bilateral agreement on cooperation in nuclear safety and security.

The government made the decision on Friday, the Ukrainian media said with the reference to a statement made by Government Representative in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnichuk on a social network.

For instance, it has approved a draft of the agreement (by exchange of memos) between the governments of Ukraine and Germany to extend the agreement on cooperation in nuclear safety and security within the framework of the G7 initiative, Global Partnership against the Spread of Weapons and Materials of Mass Destruction.

It was noted that the agreement would help extend practical cooperation with Germany in bolstering radiation, chemical, biological and nuclear safety and security in Ukraine with the assistance of the German government.
