Armenia waives quota for CSTO deputy secretary general - Foreign Ministry

YEREVAN. March 10 (Interfax) - Armenia has waived its quota for the deputy secretary general of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).

"Yes, we have submitted the respective proposal to the CSTO," Armenian Foreign Ministry press secretary Vahan Hunanyan told Interfax in response to a question on whether Yerevan had waived its quota for the CSTO deputy secretary general.

He did not provide further comment.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said on January 10 that Armenia deemed the hosting of CSTO exercises in 2023 to be inexpedient. Pashinyan refused to sign a draft declaration of the CSTO Collective Security Council and a draft document on joint assistance to Armenia at a meeting in Yerevan on November 23, 2022.
