Ukraine opens S. African market for exporting processed egg products - Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW. March 9 (Interfax) - Ukrainian companies specializing in processing egg products are now able to export their produce to the South African Republic, Ukrainian media have reported with reference to the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry website on Thursday.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, along with the State Service for Food Products Safety and Consumer Protection, has cleared a form of an international veterinary certificate for exporting Ukrainian processed egg products with the South African Department of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries, the ministry said.

"On the whole, with support from the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, forms of bilateral international certificates have been agreed upon between relevant Ukrainian agencies and those of the European Union member states, Azerbaijan, Hong Kong, the Republic of Korea, Moldova, Montenegro, Morocco, North Macedonia, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Singapore, the South African Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, the United Arab Emirates, and Uzbekistan, which entitles Ukraine to export said products to those countries," it said.

As reported earlier, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry and the State Service for Food Products Safety and Consumer Protection in 2022 agreed upon 22 forms of international veterinary certificates for exporting Ukrainian livestock products to 12 countries.

In particular, 2022 saw the Albanian market's opening to Ukrainian prefabricated meat products, the Georgian market to Ukrainian snails, the Dominican Republic's to meat and dairy products, the Israeli to ornamental freshwater fish, live rabbits, pet chews, and raw and processed leather and hide, Canada's to poultry and poultry products, and Kenya's to milk and dairy products.

In addition, Ukraine can now export pet chews and raw and canned pet food to North Macedonia, pet food to Singapore, hatching eggs and canned and processed pet food to Serbia, animal protein products (not for human consumption) and fish products to Turkey, table eggs to Pakistan, and meat products and semi-finished products to Montenegro.
