ISS performs maneuver to evade space debris - Roscosmos

MOSCOW. March 6 (Interfax) - The engines of the Progress MS-22 resupply spacecraft docked with the International Space Station (ISS) have been burned to perform a maneuver to evade a potential collision with space debris, the Russian state space agency Roscosmos said on Monday.

"The International Space Station's orbit was adjusted today using the Progress MS-22 cargo spacecraft's engines to evade a possible collision with space debris," it said.

The spacecraft's engines were burned at 3:42 p.m. Moscow time for 375.8 seconds to give a momentum of 0.7 m/s, it said.

"As a result, the ISS's orbit has averaged 418.59 kilometers above our planet's surface," Roscosmos said.
