Head of Ukraine's anti-corruption bureau appointed to follow another EU recommendation

MOSCOW. March 6 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers appointed Semen Krivonos, head of the State Architecture and Urban Construction Inspectorate, director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) at an extraordinary meeting on Monday, Ukrainian media reported.

Apart from Krivonos, the meeting participants also considered Sergei Gupyak and Roman Osipchuk as alternative candidates for the post proposed based on tender results.

"Having received all the necessary materials from the selection commission, the government thoroughly studied those materials on each candidate and personally met with each candidate in equal conditions," Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said.

Having made this appointment, Ukraine has complied with all the seven recommendations it received while being granted a European Union candidate country status and has completely built anticorruption infrastructure, Shmygal said.
