Saudi Arabia sends 3 planes with humanitarian aid to Ukraine

MOSCOW. March 6 (Interfax) - Saudi Arabia has sent three planes with humanitarian aid to Ukraine within the framework of the $100-million program, chief of staff of the Ukrainian Presidential Office Andrei Yermak said.

"The provisions include 135 heavy-duty generators with 20kWt to 400kWt capacity, as well as warm blankets and hygiene products," the Ukrainian media quoted Yermak as saying on a social network on Saturday.

Two documents were signed during a visit of Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud to Kiev at the end of February to formalize $400-million Saudi assistance to Ukraine, which includes $100 million worth of humanitarian aid and $300 million worth of petroleum products.

These are a new program of cooperation with the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center and a memorandum of mutual understanding with the Saudi Fund for Development.
