FESCO opens subsidiary in Turkey with focus on project logistics

MOSCOW. March 3 (Interfax) - FESCO Transportation Group, the flagship of which is the Far Eastern Shipping Company (FESCO) , has opened a subsidiary in Turkey to develop transport and logistics services in the region, the Russian company said.

"FESCO Turkey will provide a full range of transport and logistics services to customers in Turkey. The focus of the new company's work will be aimed at arranging delivery of project freight for energy, petrochemical and gas chemical enterprises being built in Turkey and Central Asian countries," the group said.

The subsidiary, headquartered in Mersin, will also provide operational support for existing FESCO services and projects, the group said.

"Turkey's increased role in trade with Russia enabled FESCO to significantly expand the range of its logistics services in the Black Sea and Eastern Mediterranean last year. Seeing the steady demand from both Turkish and Russian companies, we decided to open a subsidiary in the country, which will make it possible to strengthen FESCO's expansion in the region," FESCO board chairman Andrei Severilov said.

"In addition to supporting the group's existing Russian-Turkish services, the new company will also focus on organizing project logistics, including shipment of oversized cargo," he said.
