Russia, Tajikistan boosted trade 18% to $1.5 bln in 2022

DUSHANBE. March 2 (Interfax) - Trade between Russia and Tajikistan had its best year in the last 20, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said.

"Commercial and economic interaction is developing dynamically. Last year, trade turnover increased 18% to $1.5 billion. Of course, that's the record for the last twenty years," he said during the Business Investment Partnership between Russia and Tajikistan conference.

Russia is one of the leading countries in volume of investment in the republic's economy, Mishustin said. Cumulative capital investments exceed $1.5 billion.

"Industrial cooperation is developing in a number of areas. Among them are light industry, mining, and metallurgy. We are aiming to launch joint ventures that will ensure full-cycle production - in the interests of both Russia and Tajikistan," the prime minister said.
