Turkmenistan calls for intensifying energy, transport cooperation in C. Asia, Caspian region - FM
ASHGABAT. March 1 (Interfax) - Turkmen Foreign Minister Rasit Meredow has called for stepping up energy and transport cooperation in the Central Asian and Caspian region, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry said on its website on Wednesday.
Speaking at a C5+1 Ministerial Meeting between the foreign policy chiefs of the Central Asian countries and the United States in Astana on February 28, Meredow emphasized the necessity of diversifying energy deliveries, entering new markets, setting up alternative routes, attracting investment and new technology in the energy sector, and providing proper political and legal guarantees of energy supplies to international markets.
He also called for building modern infrastructure for transport corridors and transport and logistical hubs, as they are highly promising projects.
