Ukrainian PM discusses development of gas producing industry with new head of Naftogaz Supervisory Board

MOSCOW. March 1 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal discussed the development of Ukraine's gas producing industry with Anthony Marino, new head of the Supervisory Board of Naftogaz of Ukraine.

"I have congratulated new head of the Naftogaz of Ukraine Supervisory Board Anthony Marino on the starting of his work. We discussed our vision of the development of the gas producing industry in our state. It is a promising avenue, which could become a driver of Ukraine's recovery, continued development, and energy independence," Ukrainian media quoted Shmygal as saying on his social account.

The challenges currently facing Ukraine include the next heating season, he said.

"This winter has been one of the hardest in Ukraine's history, but we have won the fight for heating and light. We expect close coordination with Naftogaz in preparing for the next heating season," he said.
