OECD Office in Kiev to initially function until 2026

MOSCOW. March 1 (Interfax) - The office of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in Ukraine will initially function until 2026.

"The OECD Office is opening in Kiev today, on March 1. It will help coordinate joint work as part of Ukraine's recovery, simultaneously improving the implementation of instruments, standards and recommendations of the OECD in Ukraine," Ukrainian media said, citing the government's press service.

This step will help Ukraine become a full-fledged member of this organization, it said.

"Since Ukraine is recognized as a potential OECD member, the office will initially function until 2026 to support our state during the recovery," the press service said.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said earlier that an OECD program for Ukraine could be signed as soon as June 2023.
