Uzbekistan and U.S. to unite efforts to bolster regional security

TASHKENT. March 1 (Interfax) - Acting Uzbek Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov and U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken discussed steps to enhance security in Central Asia and to promote business exchanges between the two countries at a meeting in Tashkent.

"We agreed to join our efforts towards creating better grounds for business exchanges, capacity building in Uzbekistan, strengthening regional security in Central Asia," Saidov said on Telegram.

He also said that Uzbekistan highly values U.S. government unwavering and full support to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's reforms.

Saidov attended the C5+1 ministerial meeting of Central Asian countries and the U.S. in Astana on Tuesday.
