Gazprom CEO Miller in Tehran discusses developing cooperation with Iranian partners

MOSCOW. Feb 28 (Interfax) - Alexei Miller, CEO of Gazprom , discussed developing plans for cooperation during a visit to Iran, the Russian gas giant said.

There were working meetings with the country's First Vice President, Mohammad Mokhber, Oil Minister and Chairman of the Board of the National Iranian Oil Company or NIOC, Javad Ouwji, and the Deputy Oil Minister, NIOC Executive Director Mohsen Khojasteh-Mehr.

"At the meetings, areas of cooperation in the energy sector were discussed as per the Memorandum signed between Gazprom and NIOC in 2022," the company said.

In July 2022, a memorandum of understanding on strategic cooperation was signed between the parties. The document involves an analysis of the possibilities for interaction, in particular in the following areas: the development of gas and oil fields in Iran, the implementation of swap transactions involving natural gas and oil products, large-scale and small-scale LNG projects, the construction of gas trunklines, scientific, technical and technological cooperation.
