Zelensky says it's time to talk about Ukraine's entry into EU

MOSCOW. Feb 28 (Interfax) - It's time to begin negotiations on Ukraine's entry into the European Union this year, the Ukrainian media quoted Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky as saying on a social network on Tuesday.

"Ukraine has always been Europe. Ukraine will always be Europe. We have guaranteed that. Ukraine applied for accession to the European Union and secured the candidate status a year ago. It's time to make a decision on starting membership negotiations this year," Zelensky said.

He said that "it was Ukraine that united the European Union as never before."
